Using the latest suite of software tools from Microsoft and Technology Associates, this seminar will demonstrate how to be really effective in managing, presenting and taking control of projects. You will discover how putting the “WOW” factor back into project management can dramatically improve delivery and execution of projects whilst reducing costs.
You’ll discover how to use Microsoft Office Project Standard 2007 to good effect, and find out whether a solution based on the Standard version or the EPM solution, is the most appropriate one for your business.
In the 2007 Microsoft Office Enterprise Project Management (EPM) Solution, you can use improved capabilities for allocating human resources and managing projects and programs in line with strategic objectives. Reporting capability is greatly improved with the addition of task level reporting in the Portfolio Analyzer, local OLAP cubes in Project Professional and report templates for Excel and Visio. The new version expands the capabilities for tracking of project finances and costs, as well as types of work and resource across the project lifecycle. It includes new cost types for tracking expenses and for more effective financial tracking, budgeting and reporting.
With the EPM Solution, your teams can share knowledge, collaborate smoothly to complete tasks and deliverables, and adjust activities quickly to accommodate project changes and updates. You can also accurately assess your company needs and effectively deploy resources across the organization.
In this seminar, we will demonstrate the new features of Microsoft Office Project 2007, including multiple undo, change recalc highlighting, task drivers, conditional cell formatting and a host of other new features. On the Project Server 2007 side, we will be demonstrating a number of dramatic improvements. We will also demonstrate the new functionality in Project Web Access including resource plans, multi-project and program management support features, and new timesheeting features.
In addition, we will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a hosted EPM solution, and how you could deploy EPM very quickly using this approach. Plus, we also discuss our EPM GO!™ solution which is a pre-configured solution that allows customers to get started very quickly. Finally, for those customers that are still using Microsoft Project Standard but need to publish project plans and data to a SharePoint site, we will discuss the options available.
Attendees will be provided with a 2007 Microsoft Office Project EPM “knowledge pack” including a DVD with whitepapers, brochures, and self running demos, as well as information about training courses, webcasts, PowerPoint decks, presentations and deployment strategies and services to assist customers in their adoption of the solution. Included will be demos and trial versions of some of our highly acclaimed and award-winning Project and Project Server utilities. Also included will be information on the new Microsoft Project certifications and exams.
